Most recently, that meant jewels like Estelle's bubbling "American Boy" and Tyga's overactive "Coconut Juice," songs that appeared of nowhere to contend with the adult boys (and missies) for the summer-jam diadem. And that's why anticipating the winners for the 2009 sweepstakes is indeed challenging: actually, anybody can succeed this thing, particularly since all it takes to land a summertime strike is an appealing musical rhythm and lyrics with the heft of margarita cocktail.
But, that enounced, I am still going to examine my hand at anticipating the succeeders. Sure enough, at that place will be a few dark-horse campaigners along the way, and do not forget the fresh songs from heavy-hitters like Jay-Z and Young Jeezy that are predominating on the horizon. But, since summertime can't wait eternally (and since I have a large gambling trouble), here's my assay at invaliding the race for the summer jam of 2009.
